A Large Family And A Rage Tent

I wanted to try camping this year but I have a very large family so it will take a lot of organising. My children’s ages range from 14 months to 21 years and I have seven altogether and let’s not forget the dog Tibbet. My friend recommended a tent to us obviously knowing we would need a large tent to fit us all in. He suggested that a rage tent would be ideal because of the size of our family we looked online and found the perfect 10 man rage tent.

We decided to take two cars so that we could fit everything in, it was a good idea we did as it was still a tight squeeze. We arrived a few hours later and were shown to our site.  My son and I started to pitch the tent, unfortunately the instructions were not as helpful as I had hoped, however we received lots of useless advice from my wife and daughters. We finally got the hang of it and once we knew what we were doing the tent was up within 30 minutes.

I was happy with the size of the tent it had three sleeping compartments one four man compartment and two three man compartments. The living area was large and although we were a big family we could manage in the space we had, with four girls, three boys and a dog this was probably going to be a challenge but one I was willing to take. With the tent up and our belongings in, it was cosy to say the least,  the height wasn’t too bad I could just about stand up to get changed and as I was the tallest, I knew there would be no trouble for the others to do so.

Once the sleeping arrangements were sorted and everyone was happy, I was feeling satisfied that we had made the right choice purchasing the rage tent.  During the night we had a lot of rain and it was still raining the next day, we had to look on the bright side and although there were a few of us I was sure we would find some indoor activities to enjoy.  After a long successful day, everyone was watered and fed we got back to the tent.  I was hoping it would not be soaked through from all the rain, thankfully there were no leaks. We sat and played board games for the evening it was quality bonding time.

After 3 days it was time to leave we hadn’t had much success with the weather but it had still been fun.  The rage tent had stayed mainly watertight apart from a small leak in the corner of the tent which did not really affect us. We had a good time and are looking forward to going back – but I do hope the weather will be better next year.
