Cabanon Tents Are Ideal For The Whole Family

I went down to my local outdoor department store to look for a comfortable family sized tent.  My mum had decided that she would like to come camping with us this year and as she is in her late 70’s I wanted to choose something spacious so that we could make it as comfortable as we could for her.  The sales advisor showed me a cabanon tent in his catalogue and gave me a detailed description of the tent. It was an 8 berth cabanon tent with 4 sleeping areas.  The tent comes with a spacious lounge area that has a cornered off kitchen area.  I looked at getting a sun canopy for extra space as well.

The cabanon tent looked perfect for us.  Once the tent was purchased and in the trailer I was able to tick another job done off my list.  A few weeks later with my list checked it was time to head off to our campsite. My husband was driving so with the four children, grandma and our border collier hobo in the car we headed off.  The boot was full to the brim with blankets and comfortable chairs to make sure that mum was relaxed and comfortable.  The new Cabanon tent was in the trailer behind.

Once we arrived at the campsite we were shown to the spot where we pitched the tent and spent about 20 – 30 minutes putting it up.  it took a little time hanging all the roof liner curtains up but once we had finished we were very happy with the space we had available.  There were 4 sleeping areas which was ideal for our two girls to share one compartment and the two boys to share the other.  Grandma was comfortable in her sleeping area on a double blow up mattress and my husband and I had our own area. We made the living area as comfortable as we could for all of us and the dog had his basket in there.

Having the sun canopy gave us that little bit of extra space when we opened the front of the tent. The kitchen area was screened off with a curtain which helped to keep things looking tidy and out of the way.

The roof liner on the tent helped to keep us cooler when the weather was scorching hot there is a reverse on this which will keep you warmer in the cooler weather.  We only had a little bit of rain and wind but the cabanon tent kept us dry.  After a week of camping, grandma, the children and hobo were all happy and the tent was perfect for our needs, in fact grandma would like to come with us again next year.
