Think Camping, Think Columbia Tent
I was going camping for a few nights with my girlfriend and had just brought a new Columbia tent. I was looking forward to trying it out as this trip was the first holiday we had been on in years, we had both been working so hard that it was time to get some much needed quality time together. This was the perfect solution. We thought it would be a good idea to test the tent out at my girlfriends mum’s house as it was brand new, this way we could see how easy it was to put up and check out the space that was going to be available to us.
The tent was a Columbia tent 4-5 man which was big enough for the two of us and all our belongings. Setting it up was easy enough with the two of us and although I could of managed it by myself, it is definitely a lot easier with two people. No sooner was the tent up, then it was time to take it down again it wasn’t any hassle to do and went straight back into its packaging without too much hassle.
Once at the site we pitched the tent again, it was trouble-free to put up and as we had done it before it saved us about 5 minutes. Once the tent was up and the ground sheet was down, my girlfriend sorted out our living space the only way a girl can, the tent was looking cosy. There was plenty of room even with all of our bits and pieces in there.
The tent came with little pocket organizers and a remote controlled light which my girlfriend especially liked. There was a gobe dry skirting system that came with the tent which is supposed to deflect the rain from the floor seams. It also came with a hanging gear loft which provided us with overhead storage this again impressed my girlfriend. I really liked the drink holders that were attached to the tent although they are obviously not a necessity it was a little added bonus
I was impressed that I was able to stand up in the tent and get dressed and although I was pleased the weather was sunny during the whole of the trip, it did mean that we were still not entirely sure the Columbia tent was water tight. It was very cosy in the evenings and my girlfriend felt more secure with the remote controlled light. There was plenty of sleeping room, we had a double mattress in there and still lots of space.
